A Fast Way to Get Berkeley Onto Your Resume

By Marty Nemko

Unfortunately, brand name counts. When employers decide whom to interview, graduating from Berkeley is usually a plus. Chico State isn't. A fast way to get Berkeley onto your resume is to complete a Berkeley Extension certificate program. It's not just fast, it may more validly certify your career competence than a Berkeley degree, which by the University's own admission, emphasizes theory over practice. Berkeley Extension offers 75 career-practical one-to-two-year certificate programs, everything from accounting to web design, Cisco routers to college counseling, interior design to garden design, publishing to editing.

What can you do today?
See the web site for descriptions of UC Berkeley's certificate programs.
