Just-In-Time Learning: Free!

By Marty Nemko

According to Ronald Gross, author of Peak Learning, 80% of all employee learning is done at the Hey, Joe School: "Hey, Joe, how do you do X?" That makes sense: You learn what you need, when you need it, and it's free. You can create opportunities for that free just-in- time learning. For example, set up an e-mail list of people in your field, in and outside your organization. Whenever one of you has a question, she e-mails the group. It's like having a team of free consultants at your beck and call.
