Think Like a CEO

By Marty Nemko

Even if you're a clerk, think like a CEO. Keep your antennae out for ways to increase revenue, streamline procedures, or build morale. To ensure you get credit, don't just tell your boss. Suggest the idea at a meeting or e-mail a draft of your idea to the staff "for feedback." That way, everyone will know the idea was yours, and you're a step closer toward becoming a CEO--or at least to holding onto your job.

What Can You Do Today?
For the rest of the day, play detective. What, in your workplace, is annoying staff? Can you come up with a solution?
