When Interviewed, Don't Just Talk, Listen
By Marty NemkoMost job interviewers talk a lot. If only we'd listen and stop thinking about what we're going to say next, we could pick up crucial hints. The interviewer's reactions may reveal what she's liking and disliking about you. When you're really listening, you're able to ask questions that follow up on what the interviewer is saying--a great way to build chemistry. The interviewer may subtly indicate that the job description is fluid. Pick that up and you can propose how the position might be molded to fit your strengths. So next interview, don't just talk, listen.
