Because sales is a lucrative field and because there are so many salespeople, motivational speakers and how-to book writers keep cranking out books on how to sell. Fact is, how to sell well basically reduces to one sentence: Let me listen to you to see if there's some way I can help you.

What can you do today?
Be really honest with yourself. Do you really listen to your potential customers? Do you ask them questions to uncover their real needs? If not, forget about everything else you've been taught about sales and do just those two things, and I'd bet your sales will increase-and you'll have done so honorably.
